Q&A: How can i get a sponsorship for a movie?

Question by John: How can i get a sponsorship for a movie?
My friend and I (are 17) and we are writing a feature length horror movie. We have roughly 75 pages so far and more are coming. We are planning on placing it in a couple local theaters. However, getting it into the theaters will cost a good deal of money. The proceeds are going to cancer (no personal gain) so anything (info…..or money) would be very helpful

sounds like you’re trying to make a movie… but what you’ve done so far is write a screenplay.

why don’t you talk to an agent about selling your screenplay and letting someone else take the financial risk of making a movie. it takes a lot of money to make even a low-budget movie. doing the whole thing means you have to be good at all sorts of things, whereas if you have a good script, you can rely on someone else putting together a good team to make a good movie for you. if you can sell the script, you can still use that money for your cancer foundation proceeds

There’s a bunch of Kodak Gallery coupons on Savings.com:

But not one for a free pocket book.

SeeHere has buy one get one free or 30% off:

Snapfish has save 20% on photobooks:

Ritz has 50% off:

And there are probably more if you go to Savings.com and search “photo book.”

Q&A: What would you do to promote a discount movie theatre in your town to get people to try it?…?

Question by conacre: What would you do to promote a discount movie theatre in your town to get people to try it?…?
…Think Cheap and Easy!
I have two movie theatres, and plan on opening a third. Once people try our theatre, they often become regular customers. But getting them to try it to begin with seems to take about a year. I’d like to shorten that to about three months. We charge about half of the regular theatres, but get the movies about 4 weeks or so later. And out concession prices are very reasonable compared to the local first runs.

What would get you to check out the new place?

Advertising and atmosphere.
Firstly you need people to know you exist, you can do so by:
. Ads in a local paper.
. Poster on the side of the theatre promoting what is coming soon and specials you have.
. Letter box pamphlet drops.
. Radio or tv commercials.
. Billboards.

Secondly you need people to remember you by something positive, no point in having good movies if you don’t have a good atmosphere to go along with it.
. Staff with great customer service, attention to detail and good attitudes.
. Ticket inspectors at the door for when you go in (you’d think it is common sense, though the last two times I went to see films there was no one at the door and I’ve walked away thinking “what a waist of money I could have seen that movie for free”).
. Good snack bar, with all the regular stuff like coke and popcorn, though you may want to include club sandwiches or special meal deals at a good price also.
. Nice clean cinemas, good seats, good posters, occasional plant and the same ticket person to say goodbye to you at the end of the film.

Using these approaches is a good way to bring people in and keep them coming back.
All the best 🙂

If your local theatre ran an older movie for a discount admission, how likely would be to go?

Question by Justin H: If your local theatre ran an older movie for a discount admission, how likely would be to go?
When I say older, I’m talking classics like Grease, Top Gun, Footloose, Raiders of the Lost Ark, etc. Or even older like Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Casablanca, etc. I know these movies are all available on DVD, but would you be willing to pay $ 5.00 to see them on the big screen?

Best answer:

Answer by Magenta
Yes I would, maybe not all the films from your list but the Indiana Jones movies for sure, The Wizard of Oz I would love to see (probably more than once lol) there’s a lot of films I would pay to see on the big screen again, it would be nice to see them like that.
