What’s an acceptable rate to charge as a “Social Networker” ?

Question by camillac1: What’s an acceptable rate to charge as a “Social Networker” ?
Wanting to manage social sites such as Facebook, Twitter, myspace, for small businesses in my local area. What is an acceptable charge for part-time “free lance” work of that nature? A flat monthly fee? A package deal for multiple site management? Is there a market for this type service?

What would you charge clients for this?

Question by Nut Ball: What would you charge clients for this?
I’m looking to set a fee for clients. It’s basically a site devoted to a local town. I want to charge businesses to run ads on a per month deal. What would you charge? I know it’s vague but say its an average size town with decent traffic on the site.

Best answer:

Answer by Warner Stevenson
How much you charger will depend on the the traffic your website gets.

If it only gets 5 visitors a day, no one will pay you to advertise on your site.

What you charge depends on what kind of exposure they get on the site.

a banner is worth a lot more then a text link but it also depends on what page they on.

Its not much to go on but try checking out your competition and see what they charge.

Will a Disorderly Conduct charge affect employment?

Question by Matt6490: Will a Disorderly Conduct charge affect employment?
So, a couple years ago in college I was at a party that got busted. I received a local ordinance for underage consumption, but in court the charges got amended to disorderly conduct. It was in Illinois, and I was 20 at the time. Now I am applying for jobs, but this has me worried. Will this show up on my record? If so, would it hurt my chances of getting the job?

Best answer:

Answer by Lady D
It will show up on your criminal record. Whether or not it affects your chances of getting a job depends on the company and the job you’re applying for. Some run criminal backgrounds, some don’t. Some only care about certain crimes, such as those involving violence or drug/alcohol abuse. For others, any record is unacceptable. It’s not going to HELP, but I’m sure you’ll still get a job and the more years pass the less companies will care.

What is a reasonable percentage for a shop to charge someone for selling their homemade jewelry?

Question by Jack: What is a reasonable percentage for a shop to charge someone for selling their homemade jewelry?
My mother makes her own ceramic jewelry. She showed some to a local shop, and they said they’d put her works on display and sell them for her. They said 50-50 is a typical profit split for artist/shop, but they offered her 60-40 (60% for my mom). Is that a good deal?

Best answer:

Answer by DV8
60% is OK, that is actually pretty standard. 50-50 is too high. A third (33%) is about as low as I have experienced. I make beaded jewelry and sell at local stores

How much should I charge for cable runs?

Question by Gonzalo A: How much should I charge for cable runs?
I was asked to run ethernet cat5e cables at a local business. and I don’t know how much should I charged the person? Should I charge $ 50 per cable drop or not? What do you think? Lets say it’s a 75 to 150 FT cable drop. is $ 50 too much or not enough? how about $ 75 🙂 I already have my connectors and 1000ft bulk cables.. (XD)

Answer by nick_dudar
your the man doing the job, dont ask others to tell you how much to request. instead of asking a non educated community (in laying Ethernet cables, and charging), ask another business, or look at their brochure. and make it 5-10 bucks cheaper than theirs, make some competition.
