I live in WA state and I’m trying to find a local company that can help me lower my mortgage payment?

Question by Eliu L: I live in WA state and I’m trying to find a local company that can help me lower my mortgage payment?
I I just bought a home 2 year ago, and I was told to get and adjustable rate because it was the lowest rate. Now that I’m trying to refinance, most bank are telling me that they can’t refinance me because my house is not worth. I have been seeing in the new and on TV about loan modification, but I would like to meet someone in person and I would like to work with a local company. Does anyone know of a company that is local where I can deal with a real person?

Tough decision on sewing machine to buy.?

Question by Daria R: Tough decision on sewing machine to buy.?
My local Bernina dealer is having a company rep come down. If I go through a little weekend afternoon sales pitch I can get $ 200 off the basic Bernette 55 model. It retails for about 400 so that would be 50% discount. BUT I’m real tempted to go to Wallyworld and just get a $ 100 machine now, now, now.

Bernina Pros
I will get lessons from my local dealer, phone help, probably an okay warranty, maybe could trade it in later.

Bernina Cons
Are they really better than a Walmart basic Brother? All stuff is cheap these days. How can this base model Bernetter really be worth the x-tra 100 bucks?

Walmart Pros
I can have it now with out the sales pitching. My housemates is a seamstress and can show me alot on my basic machine.
If I outgrow it quick I can sell it online just a quick.

Walmart Cons
Maybe it won’t sew as well in some way. I have no clue about sewing so I don’t want a machine that doesn’t do a good job and frustrates me and discourages me from sewing.
I can’t “use the one I have”. I don’t have one. My housemate does but it’s hers and I don’t want to invade her space especially while I’m bumbling through the learning process.

Often when a store closes I find quality stuff at seriously discounted prices. Are there any websites, newspapers, magazines, etc. that indicate store closings?

Books For Sale On The Internet?

Question by earthball50@sbcglobal.net: Books For Sale On The Internet?
I went to my Local Bookstore at the College I go to. They want $ 97 for a used book and $ 120 for a new one. I had a college teacher tell me about a site to go to on the internet to get them for discounted price. What is it , and do you use one to get your books for a more reasonable price? I figure this would be the best gift to recieve for my birthday, since its today. Dee~Dee

Is this a good deal for a Jeep Commander?

Question by Sweet: Is this a good deal for a Jeep Commander?
Is this a good deal for a Jeep Commander?
In my local newspaper they’re advertising 2008 Jeep Commanders (new i think) for almost $ 11,000. And says the MSRP is $ 32,250. Is there a catch? I’m going to go down there today with my dad. This an employee discount and he retired from chrysler.

So is this a good deal? And about how much will it be altogether at the end With all the added cost?

Thanks

Answer by METALHEAD
Well Squril, IT COULD BE? Car dealers are some tricky people when it comes to advertising. (I should know, I just quit working at MY local dealership) Anyway, thats a REALLY good deal IF its an 08′ and IF the MSRP is really 32,250? Be careful, they sometimes can fudge that kind of thing? Also, make sure you REALLY look at the motor and request a CARFAX on that vehicle!! MAKE SURE THE VIN # MATCHES!!!! (that will show you if its EVER been wrecked) All in all, look at spending anywhere from 1500 to 2500 more on taxes and all the other goodies after everything is said and done. Good luck…Metalhead

Can you tell me if I qualitfy for MaineCare?

Question by Sa.: Can you tell me if I qualitfy for MaineCare?
I’m 17 and a full time college student. In October I will be 18. I have no private insurance. I am on the local hospital discount program, that’s it. I make $ 46 a week before taxes on a work study job. I have no other source of income (other than money from family obviously) I have looked on the internet and haven’t been able to find a clear answer. So my question is, do I qualify for MaineCare? Where do I get the papers to sign up? And what does it cover? Thank you all so much.
