Need help for mystery novel. What happens after the murder?

Question by mswritergurl74: Need help for mystery novel. What happens after the murder?
I’m trying to write a murder mystery novel and I have some questions about the whole process.

Who deals with murder investigations? Just the local police depatment?

If no evidence can be found that points to anyone is the case just closed? If so, how long is it kept open?

If they have people with motive or people they suspect may have done it can they be arrested or is real evidence needed?

How can the victim be murdered? Can it be something simple? Like the other day I was watching this show where a person got hit on the head really hard by a fire extinguisher and they died from it. Would something like that do? I don’t want something really elaborate, like a serial killer or someone with time on their hands who plan it out. More like what an everyday person would do if they suddently decided to kill someone.

Thanks for help.

How do writers save for retirement?

Question by : How do writers save for retirement?
I assume that they need to sign up for retirement IRA plans with their local bank or credit union. Do publishing houses offer 401(k)s to writers with book deals?

Best answer:

Answer by Bob Smith
All publishing businesses are companies, and if companies are required to provide a 401(k) account for employees, then publishing houses are no different.

How much $ to print 4200 raffle tickets?

Question by BustedDreams: How much $ to print 4200 raffle tickets?
The ticket is 4 1/2″ x 2 1/4″ with a 1″ x 2 1/4″ perforated stub. Printing on both the ticket and stub, front side only. Tickets are numbered, bundled, and stapled in increments of 20. How much to print this job?

Unfortuantely, I am forced to ask the question because my childs football league used these as a fundraiser selling each ticket for $ 5. $ 2 of every ticket went back to the “sponsor” to cover the cost of printing, two tickets to 8 regular season pro football games, and help offset their donation of a a month membersdhip to their gym (a supposed $ 75 value)… yeah I know… where can you sign up to be a sponsor.

If you own a print shop and a local sports league brought this to you, would you thought to have provided a discount or even donate your services… maybe for a mention on the ticket?

Q&A: What is the coupon and YTM rate of this bond?

Question by jellybean: What is the coupon and YTM rate of this bond?
Suppose today a 14 percent coupon bond sells at par. Two years from now, the required return on the same bond is 12 percent. The coupon rate in two years would be _______percent and the YTM would be ____________ percent.

I’m not sure I understand what this question is asking but would the coupon rate in two years be 12% and the YTM be 14%?

It must be super simple since such little information is given, so what am I missing?

Best answer:

Answer by Chris M
You’ve got the numbers reversed, the coupon rate doesn’t change on a bond – so it’s always at the issued rate. The price changes, which is why the yield changes.

For employee’s at Hollister. What are the benefits/perks?

Question by CaliforniaGurl1234: For employee’s at Hollister. What are the benefits/perks?
I just the job at my local Hollister and wanted to know of the employee discounts, the “perks” you get for working there, do you get vacation time, required dress code etc. All stuff related to that.
Also, I heard that there are these 50 things???? What are those? And can I get those when I go in to sign papers, like right away so I can use them?
Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Las
The perks are that you get a 20% employee discount. You get vacation time ONLY if your a full time employee, so basically if your a manager or lead stock. The dress code should be up on the bulletin board in the back but if its not, your just supposed to wear jeans(hollister ones or ones that look like hollister) a top in blue, white, gray, or brown. And sandals in blue, white, gray, or brown. The 50s are the specific items that you get 50% off on. Since your a new hire you should be able to get your 50s the first two weeks your there. On the bulletin board there should be a list of the specific items you get 50s on. Usually its 1 top, 1 pair of jeans, and 1 pair of sandals. If you can’t find the list ask a manager or just one of the employees. You also get 50s after every floorset. The managers will replace the list that is there now with a new list with new clothes that you can get 50% off on. If this doesn’t answer your question you can always ask a manager. They are supposed to tell you all this when your hired but they usually don’t.

I had a coupon for something free and live in Ma so can they charge sales tax?

Question by Katrina, Sophie, and Taffy: I had a coupon for something free and live in Ma so can they charge sales tax?
In Massachusetts state tax is based on the actual amount you pay. I had a coupon from a manufacturer for one item free. The coupon said customer pays applicable tax. Since the item was $ 0, 6.25% of that is 0 and the store tried to charge me about $ 4 tax as it was a $ 66 item. As far as I knew coupons are not taxed in this state. If this is true it is apparent some stores are not aware of this fact.

Best answer:

Answer by Mom
Yes you are required to pay the sales tax. The coupon is NOT taxed the item is.
