Can someone give me an estimate of how much this would cost?

Question by Connor: Can someone give me an estimate of how much this would cost?
If we’re a non-profit organization (and we qualify for the non-profit discount), and we want to send out roughly 20,000 pieces of mail to potential volunteers or donors in the local community using the USPS, how much would it cost? I tried looking it up, but all the trays, destinations, and schemes confused the heck out of me. So anybody who knows what they’re doing, please help us out here!

Figure around maybe 2 to 3 dollars for each letter. So I’d say around 25 to 30 thousand.

No idea what size/weight you are talking about, but for a regular letter sized mailing, if you do all the presorting and automated processing prep properly, it could be about 15 to 20 cents a piece. You will need to have a nonprofit account set up at your post office (bulk mailing facility) and make sure the mailing is property sorted and counted to qualify for the discount. The front of the mailing has to meet certain standards as well. Your list needs to be NCOA certified for discount prices (checked against the National Change of Address database) To be safe, you should take an example of the mailing to the post office to verify that your specific mailing qualifies for the nonprofit rate (not all mail sent by a nonprofit qualifies for get the nonprofit rate, you know) and they willl let you know the approximate cost per piece and should be able to give you information or a handout on the proper setup,

Yes, it’s a pain in the neck but the discount is certainly worth it. However, if you really don’t know what you are doing, you will get better result by using a commercial mailing house local to you so they can clean and property sort your list and set up the mailing for the optimal discount. The cost will be well worth the result.

Is there a definition of “LOCAL PICK UP ONLY” for Ebay items?

Question by liamrite: Is there a definition of “LOCAL PICK UP ONLY” for Ebay items?
What EXACTLY does “LOCAL PICK UP ONLY” mean? To me it means YOU pick it up and there is no shipping involved, period. The winning bidder of an item I sold on Ebay says she is planning to have “them” pick it up for her (e.g. FedEx) once I have it packaged and ready. It’s a set of 12 dinnerware and my point was that I don’t want to deal with packaging and problems during shipping. Is there a definition for “LOCAL PICK UP ONLY” on Ebay or do you need to explain in detail what you mean by it every time you list an item this way? Thanks for any comments/suggestions!

Answer by z0plax
Yeah my understanding of Local Pickup Only is that someone would basically come and get the item from you, and that you wouldn’t ship it to the winning bidder. Often this seems to be done for items that are too big or impractical to ship.

I got prescription antibiotics at a very small local pharmacy and at Walmart?

Question by absent farmer: I got prescription antibiotics at a very small local pharmacy and at Walmart?
Walmart’s price was 20$ MORE than the “mom and pop” drug store. I am serious. Azithromycin 250mg for myself at a local drug store
25.95$ and the very same thing at Walmart for my college daughter in another town 44.62$ .
4$ prescriptions my @ss! They just robbed me! I called Walmart and the tech said that 25.95$ is less than their wholesale price but when I talked to my pharmacist he said that was not true, they
all get their antibiotics at about the same price and that Walmart probably gets a discount because they buy in bulk.

Anyone else notice this kind of corruption?

My point is more that Walmart is not the bargain they make themselves out to be–I just wondered if there was anyone else out there that had noticed that.
I don’t have prescription coverage. I didn’t expect a 4 dollar prescription but I didn’t expect them to be 20 dollars higher than my small town pharmacy. People need to be informed.
Both were generic prescriptions-identical

Use your insurance card. If you don’t have insurance then shop around. Meijer has a wide range of prescriptions (including some antibiotics) for free.
